Mini Skool Fishes Staff

Natalie Rush

Swimming Instructor
I am a fully qualified in level 1 and 2 in teaching aquatics. I have always had a passion for teaching swimming. I enjoy getting the very best out of young swimmers to see them develop over time!

Seeing huge progression makes me so proud, from non swimmers to amazing little swimmers with plenty of confidence, with the added bonus of knowing I have taught my students a lifelong skill of swimming and made children safe around water.

I am also an NPLQ trainer assessor so it’s safe to say the kids will be safe.

Gabriel Saddington

Swimming coordinator
Hi my name is Gabriel but everyone calls me Gab and I’m the Swimming Coordinator here at Mini-Skool-Fishes.
I’ve been involved in aquatics pretty much my entire life. Starting with learning, training and eventually competing for the city of Newcastle Swim Club. In my adult years, I have stayed in the aquatic industry firstly as a lifeguard, then for the last 10 years as a swimming teacher. In my time as a teacher I have gathered vast experience in all aspects of teaching, and all types of students and I have taught thousands of people valuable water skills and strokes.

I am extremely comfortable teaching babies through to adults in their nineties and beyond. I also have extensive experience working with people with SEN (Special Educational Needs) and with physical limitations.

I’m so excited for this new chapter in my career and can’t wait to meet my next generation of students.

Susan Young

Swimming Instructor
Susan started swimming before the age of 6 when her dad taught both her and her sister to swim. Then from 6 years old she became a member of the local swimming club, began lessons progressing through the stages and also swimming competitively.

Competitive swimming provided excellent exercise as well as an opportunity to meet and socialise with other people including competing abroad with our local twin town.
Diving, lifeguards and junior teaching followed as well as synchronised swimming.

After bringing up a family and a career Susan returns to the world of aquatics to encourage others to swim, be safe around water and most of all have fun.

We welcome Susan to the Mini-Skool-Fish family.

Katie Luther

Swimming Instructor
Hi my name is Katie. The short of it is I learned to swim because whilst on holiday at the age of 4 I nearly drowned! It was then a priority for safety that I could swim.

As it turns out I was a natural! I started competing for North Tyneside Dolphins and Sharks as soon as I had completed my badges. When I left school I gained my Lifeguard qualification and then progressed onto gain my Level 1 and 2 ASA Teaching Aquatics certificates. I have taught a wide range of ages and abilities. My CPD speciality was in front crawl and backcrawl for children and adults with Autism, and I have gained many years’ experience working with children with SEN (Special Educational Needs).

I am excited to start my new role at Mini-Skool-Fishes and can’t wait to make some new little friends
